Hamstick

Di-Pole

I used this configuration to build my first ever antenna, two Hamsticks in the adapter, bolted to aluminium pole, It takes about 5 minutes to put it up and get on the air for a JOTA at Southend storeys scout HQ. Great if you don’t have much space.

Very easy first antenna project, the Hamstick Di-Pole is made by using a DPC-38 Dipole Center or MFJ-347 to Join 2x Hamstick Mobile Antennas to make a Base Antenna. I have made both 20M & 40 M Hamstick dipoles, they work ok, suitable for short term use (damage easy in wind) and benefit from a 10″ loop in the coax just before entering the pl259 into the antenna works as kind of RF choke.

You will need an antenna analyser to tune this.
